1) INTERNAL AUDITOR – HEAD OFFICE, BLANTYRE

Key responsibilities

  • Develop an Annual Internal audit plan that should be approved by the Board Audit committee.
  • Conduct Risk based audits on various processes including Underwriting, Claims, policy administration and financial reporting to ensure adherence to company policies and regulations.
  • Identify potential risks associated with operational processes, IT systems and compliance issues.
  • Assess effectiveness and adequacy of Internal controls across all branches.
  • Recommend improvements to enhance control mechanisms and mitigate risks.
  • Prepare concise and clear audit reports to senior management and Board Audit committee.
  • Present audit findings to Management and Board.
  • Work closely with branch managers and departmental Heads to develop actionable plans based on audit findings.
  • Monitor and implement corrective actions resulting from audit findings and ensure timely resolutions of issues identified.
  • Conduct special investigations as directed by Management.
  • Identify patterns or anomalies that may indicate inefficiencies or fraud.
  • Liaise with External auditors and ensure recommendations are implemented by Section Heads.

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Internal Audit from accredited institution.
  • Studying towards ACCA or CIMA.
  • At least 3 years of experience in Internal Auditing in a busy environment, preferably in financial institutions.
  • Should be a member of Institute of Internal Auditors in Malawi (IIA).
  • Possess excellent report writing and organisational skills.
