MASM Medi Clinics Ltd is one of the health care services providers in Malawi with medical clinics in Blantyre, Lilongwe, Zomba, and Mzuzu. Our Clinics serve both MASM and Non-MASM members.
In an effort to strengthen our technical capacity we are inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the following vacant position:
THEATRE NURSE
Location: Kanjedza
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Ensure that patients have been prepared properly for surgical procedures.
- Ensure that all necessary instruments and equipment for surgery has been prepared and is readily available.
- Work with the surgeon by assisting and providing instruments, needles, swabs and other materials as required.
- Taking responsibility for surgical instruments, equipment, linen and swabs after the surgery.
- Offer support and assess the patient’s condition during post anaesthetic care and ensure they can be safely discharged back to a ward.
- Adhering to standard precautions of infection prevention and control practices.
Educational qualifications experience and attributes
- A minimum of a college diploma in nursing and midwifery from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of 3 years practical experience in an operating theatre at a busy hospital.
- High level of work organization.
- Must be registered and in good standing with Nurses and Midwives Council of Malawi.
