Post: Network Support Officer
Grade: NA8
Responsible to: Principal Network Administrator
Purpose of the job
To provide technical support and maintenance services for the ICT network infrastructure of Parliament.
Duties
- Monitors and maintains network systems, including LAN and WAN, routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless networks;
- Assists in the installation, configurations, maintenance and upgrading of network and hardware;
- Resolves network security by monitoring and managing firewalls, VPNs, and other security systems;
- Conducts regular audits of network systems and implement improvements to optimize performance;
- Documents network configurations, issues resolved, and solutions implemented;
- Supports ICT training sessions on network usage and security for users; and,
- Works closely with other IT staff and departments to implement technical solutions.
Qualifications and Experience
Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science or a related field. Professional Certification in network administration or equivalent are preferred; and at least two (2) years’ experience in administering ICT networks.
