Responsible to: Senior Editor of Hansard

Purpose of the job

To provide editorial support to ensure that Hansard transcriptions and other parliamentary publications are factually and grammatically correct.

Duties 

  1. Edits transcripts and other parliamentary publications without altering the intent or meaning;
  2. Ensures all records meet established standards and guidelines for Hansard publications.
  3. Maintains database for Hansard and other publications;
  4. Assists in the maintenance of logbook of transactions between Hansard and other Sections; and,
  5. Addresses inquiries from legislators, stakeholders, and the public regarding Hansard; and,
  6. Stays informed about procedural changes in parliament that may affect the Hansard record.

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism or Mass Communication or Humanities or Languages. At least two (2) years’ experience in editorial work.
