Post: Principal Studio and Transmission Engineer
Grade: NA 6
Responsible to: Chief Broadcasting Officer
Responsible for: Senior Studio and Transmission Engineer
Purpose of the Job
To oversee provision of studio engineering services.
Duties
- Leads in articulating and compiling the technical needs and reports of the two media: TV and Radio;
- Ensures the smooth working of all equipment in the two media;
- Manages installation and testing new facilities and equipment;
- Interprets and implements instructions and requests from presenters, producers and others;
- Liaises with broadcasting production officers for quality control;
- Coordinates videography;
- Maintains specialist equipment for video production, broadcast and satellite transmission and interactive media;
- Analyses and guides repair of technical faults on equipment and systems; and,
- Manages and appraises staff under his or her charge.
Qualifications and experience
Bachelors Degree in Electronics or Electrical or Broadcasting Engineering or Computer Science or Audio Visual production, and with three (3) years’ work experience in various broadcasting platforms.
