1) CREDIT CONTROLLER – LILONGWE BRANCH
The Credit Controller is responsible for managing the insurance company’s credit control functions, including the collection of outstanding premiums, monitoring of debtor accounts, and ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant legislation, including the Insurance Act. The role involves maintaining an effective credit management system to minimize bad debts, optimizing cash flow, and providing timely reporting to ensure the financial sustainability and profitability of the company.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in credit control, accounts receivable, or a similar role, preferably within the insurance or financial services industry.
- Strong understanding of credit control processes, accounting principles, and relevant industry regulations.
- Familiarity with the Insurance Act and its application in credit management.
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to handle difficult customer situations.
- Knowledge of the Malawian insurance market is an advantage.
2) UNDERWRITING ASSISTANT – LILONGWE BRANCH
The Underwriting Assistant plays a key role in supporting the underwriting team by ensuring the smooth processing of insurance policies, maintaining accurate records, assisting with risk assessments, and ensuring that the company’s policies are in full compliance with regulatory and internal standards. This position requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with the underwriting team to maintain high levels of service and compliance.
Required Qualifications:
- A diploma or degree in Insurance, Risk Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Certification in insurance (e.g., CII) would be a plus.
- At least 1-2 years of experience in the insurance industry, preferably in an underwriting support or administrative role.
- Basic knowledge of insurance products, underwriting processes, and regulatory requirements (Insurance Act and other relevant regulations).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with underwriting software or systems.
- Strong data entry skills with a high degree of accuracy.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with clients, brokers, agents, and the underwriting team.
- Ability to explain complex insurance terms in a clear and concise manner.
- Exceptional attention to detail when reviewing documents, entering data, and performing administrative tasks.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to identify and address issues in underwriting processes, policy documentation, or risk assessments.
3) CLAIMS ASSISTANT – LILONGWE BRANCH
The Claims Assistant plays an integral role in the motor claims section by providing administrative support in managing, processing, and resolving motor vehicle claims. This includes ensuring timely registration of claims, liaising with customers, assessing documentation, and assisting in claims settlements in line with compliance and regulatory requirements. The role requires attention to detail, efficient communication, and a strong understanding of motor insurance policies and the Insurance Act.
Required Qualifications:
- A diploma or degree in Insurance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Knowledge of motor insurance policies, claims processes, and the Insurance Act is a plus.
- At least 1-2 years of experience in claims processing or a customer service role within the insurance industry, preferably with a focus on motor claims.
- Familiarity with claims management systems and general office software (Microsoft Office Suite, claims software).
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records and handle sensitive information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and claims management systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage customer expectations, handle complaints, and provide clear instructions and information.
- Ability to analyze claims, assess documentation, and escalate complex issues as needed.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
4) SALES AGENTS (3 POSITIONS) – LILONGWE BRANCH & HEAD OFFICE BLANTYRE
Key responsibilities
- Achieve agreed upon sales targets and outcomes within schedule.
- Assisting in introduction of new products and promoting them through regular visits and frequent communication with intermediaries, existing clients and prospects.
- Supply management with weekly sales and movement report.
- Establishing and maintaining regular contact with current and prospective clients.
- Collating and presenting relevant market intelligence with a view to possibly enhance internal competitive advantages.
Required Qualifications:
- A Diploma in Insurance, Sales Management, Business Administration, Marketing Management, or equivalent.
- At least 1-2 years of experience in marketing, insurance or financial industry or related field.
- Excellent selling, negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to create and deliver presentations tailored to the audience needs.
- Proven work experience as a Sales Representative.
