Credit Underwriter
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of Credit Underwriter tenable at Head Office.
Reporting to the Credit Underwriting Manager the successful candidate will be responsible for assessment and analysis of credit applications and provide recommendations in line with regulatory requirements and policy guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and provide recommendations on credit requests from the Business team, whilst managing turnaround times.
- Managing daily excess requests.
- CRB report and credit scoring.
- Ensure timely circulation of unpaid cheques to relevant stakeholders.
- Tracking and monitoring exposures and transactional levels.
- Inspection stocks held under collateral manage-ment.
- Weekly review of large exposures & related par-ties.
- Ensure that RBM approvals are in place for Credit Compliance.
- Timely submission of Credit Committee & Board Packs.
- Circulation of Approved Limits dashboard.
- Monthly monitoring of portfolio at risk report.
Technical Skills/Competencies

Qualifications and Requirements
- A degree in Accounting, Economics or Business Administration/ related field or equivalent qualification
- At least 3 years banking experience of which at least 1 year should be in credit
- Knowledge of key areas on proposal analysis
