VACANCIES ANNOUNCEMENT

The Teachers Council of Malawi (TCM) is a parastatal organization mandated to regulate the teaching profession in Malawi. Established under the Education Act No. 21 of 2013, TCM is responsible for ensuring high standards of professionalism, accountability, and ethical conduct among teachers across all levels of the education system. The council oversees teacher registration, professional development, and compliance with ethical and professional standards to enhance the quality of education in the country.

In pursuit of its mandate, TCM invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals of Malawian origin to fill the following position:

Job Title: Executive Assistant
Grade: TC5
Reporting to: HR and Administration Manager (Functionally) CEO (Administratively)
Responsible for: N/A

Purpose of the Job

To provide administrative support and secretarial services to the office of the CEO.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Maintaining the CEO’s schedule and making travel arrangements;
  2. Ordering inventory and maintaining critical supplies, accessories and equipment for the CEOs office;
  3. Attending to, and recording internal and external clients and inquiries;
  4. Receiving, analyzing and sorting incoming and outgoing correspondence;
  5. Drafting, typing and proof-reading official documents including letters, reports, memos and notices and; compiling board documents.
  6. Maintaining the safety, security and integrity of sensitive and confidential documents;
  7. Developing and maintaining electronic and hard copy filing system;
  8. Taking accurate and comprehensive notes and minutes of meetings;
  9. Mentoring and supervising the Administrative Assistant.

Minimum Education Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Secretarial Studies, Business Management; Business Administration or related field plus at least five (5) years’ experience servicing senior management positions; OR
  • Diploma in Secretarial Studies; Business Management; Business Administration or related field plus at least eight (8) years’ experience servicing senior management positions;
