VACANCIES ANNOUNCEMENT

The Teachers Council of Malawi (TCM) is a parastatal organization mandated to regulate the teaching profession in Malawi. Established under the Education Act No. 21 of 2013, TCM is responsible for ensuring high standards of professionalism, accountability, and ethical conduct among teachers across all levels of the education system. The council oversees teacher registration, professional development, and compliance with ethical and professional standards to enhance the quality of education in the country.

In pursuit of its mandate, TCM invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals of Malawian origin to fill the following positions:

Job Title: Procurement Officer
Grade: TC5
Responsible to : HR and Administration Manager
Responsible for: N/A

Purpose of the Job
To provide procurement and asset disposal services.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Developing, reviewing and monitoring implementation of procurement and disposal policies, strategies, plans and budgets;
  2. Preparing and administering procurement contracts; tender documents, request for quotations and bid documents;
  3. Inspecting goods, works and services before payment;
  4. Liaising with Supplies Assistant to reconcile procurement and stores records;
  5. Conducting performance rating of vendors and suppliers of goods, works and services;
  6. Preparing appropriate procurement reports for management and PPDA;
  7. Interpreting procurement policies and regulations and advising the Council;
  8. Providing secretarial services to the IPDC and evaluation committees.

Minimum Education Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelors’ Degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management; CIPS Level 2 or equivalent from a recognized and Accredited Education Institution.
  • Three (3) years relevant work experience.
  • Preferably a member of MIPS
