VACANCIES ANNOUNCEMENT

The Teachers Council of Malawi (TCM) is a parastatal organization mandated to regulate the teaching profession in Malawi. Established under the Education Act No. 21 of 2013, TCM is responsible for ensuring high standards of professionalism, accountability, and ethical conduct among teachers across all levels of the education system. The council oversees teacher registration, professional development, and compliance with ethical and professional standards to enhance the quality of education in the country.

In pursuit of its mandate, TCM invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals of Malawian origin to fill the following positions:

Job Title: ICT Officer
Grade: TC5
Responsible to: HR and Administration Manager
Responsible for : N/A

Purpose of the Job:

To provide and maintain TCM systems and services.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Developing, reviewing and monitoring implementation of ICT policies, strategies, systems, work plans and budgets;
  2. Initiating innovative ICT based approaches to improving operational systems and processes;
  3. Installing, configuring, and maintaining software, hardware and network infrastructure;
  4. Developing, implementing and administering database systems and data backup;
  5. Advising the Council on all ICT related matters including maintenance and procurement of ICT equipment and consumables;
  6. Troubleshooting system and network problems and rectifying faults;
  7. Providing ICT end user support and training;
  8. Maintaining and managing the TCM website in liaison with PR Officer;
  9. Implementing and managing ICT security measures including network access authorization and antivirus programs;
  10. Maintaining an accurate and updated inventory of
    TCM ICT resources;
  11. Producing appropriate reports on ICT operations as required;

Minimum Education Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelors’ Degree in Computer Science,
  • Information Technology or ICT related field from an accredited Institution.
  • Four (4) years’ relevant work experience.
