VACANCIES ANNOUNCEMENT

The Teachers Council of Malawi (TCM) is a parastatal organization mandated to regulate the teaching profession in Malawi. Established under the Education Act No. 21 of 2013, TCM is responsible for ensuring high standards of professionalism, accountability, and ethical conduct among teachers across all levels of the education system. The council oversees teacher registration, professional development, and compliance with ethical and professional standards to enhance the quality of education in the country.

In pursuit of its mandate, TCM invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals of Malawian origin to fill the following positions:

Job Title: Supplies Assistant
Grade: TC9
Responsible to: Assistant Accountant
Responsible for : N/A

Purpose of the Job
To maintain and manage stores inventory.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Promoting and reporting on adherence to stores management standards and internal controls;
  2. Receipting, verifying and issuing supplies according to procedures;
  3. Conducting regular stock taking;
  4. Processing supplier’s payment requisitions;
  5. Liaising with procurement section on procurement and issuance of supplies;
  6. Monitoring stock levels and recommending re-order of stock items;
  7. Reconciling invoices with local purchase orders;
  8. Reconciling stocks accounts;
  9. Recording stocks and updating bin cards and all record registers in use;
  10. Posting stock requisitions in the accounting system;
  11. Identifying obsolete and redundant items for timely disposal;

Minimum Education Qualifications and Experience

  • MSCE plus a Certificate in Purchasing and Supply or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years’ relevant work experience.
