VACANCIES ANNOUNCEMENT
The Teachers Council of Malawi (TCM) is a parastatal organization mandated to regulate the teaching profession in Malawi. Established under the Education Act No. 21 of 2013, TCM is responsible for ensuring high standards of professionalism, accountability, and ethical conduct among teachers across all levels of the education system. The council oversees teacher registration, professional development, and compliance with ethical and professional standards to enhance the quality of education in the country.
In pursuit of its mandate, TCM invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals of Malawian origin to fill the following positions:
Job Title: Public Relations (PR) and Stakeholder Engagement Officer
Grade: TC5
Reporting to: CEO
Responsible for: N/A
Purpose of the Job
To promote public relations, stakeholder engagement and raise institutional profile.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Developing, monitoring, reviewing and implementing policies, plans, programs and strategies relating to TCM public relations, stakeholder engagement and communications;
- Creating and maintaining a positive corporate image and promoting interests of all stakeholders including strategic partners;
- Designing and implementing public awareness programs and facilitating corporate events management and engagement;
- Updating of approved content on the TCM website;
- Developing and maintaining a good rapport with the media, educational institutions, professional bodies and other relevant stakeholders and providing, relevant and up-to-date information;
- Developing corporate publications and other communication materials;
- Serving as a spokesperson for the Council and;
- Conducting corporate image audits.
Minimum Education Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Mass Communication, or Media studies from a recognized and accredited Education Institution.
- Three (3) years’ relevant work experience
