HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the vacancy, which exists at Kamuzu Academy:
Personal specifications
- Degree in either Human Resource Management or its equivalent;
- Minimum of 10 year’s experience in human resource management at a senior level in a busy organisation is essential;
- Ability to deal effectively with people of different backgrounds is desirable.
Duties will include but not limited to:
- Administer compensation benefits, performance management system, safety and recreation programes;
- Perform difficult staffing duties, including dealing with understaffing, refereeing disputes, hiring employees and administering disciplinary procedures;
- Advise management on organizational policy mattes such as equal employment opportunity, sexual harassment and recommended needed;
Plan and conduct new employee orientation to foster positive attitude towards organizational objectives; - Serves as link between management and employee by handling questions, interpreting and administering contracts and helping resolve work-related problems;
- Plan, direct, supervise and coordinate work activities of subordinates and staff relating to employment, compensation;
- Analyze training needs to design employee development, language training and health and safety programs;
- Conduct exit interviews to identify reasons for employee termination;
- Investigate and report on industrial accidents for insurance carriers;
- Represent the organization at personnel-related hearing and investigations;
- Negotiate bargaining agreements and help interpret labour contracts;
- Prepare personnel forecast to project employment needs;
- Prepare and follow budgets for personnel operations;
- Develop, administer and evaluate applicant tests;
- Support terminated employees with outplacement or relocation assistance.
