Development Aid from People to People (DAPP) Malawi is a locally registered NGO that has been operating in Malawi since 1995. Our mission is to work with the communities by promoting social and economic development through health, education training, food security and environmental programs. Our work in development is guided by social cohesion and respect for humanity, implemented through innovative and cost-effective programs. Through a variety of development models, DAPP complements the government’s effort in implementing the Malawi Growth and Development Strategy.
With funding from the US President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) through Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), DAPP Malawi is implementing the Determined, Resilient, AIDS-Free Mentored and Safe (DREAMS), a project called “Loto Langa” (LoLa) which targets Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) aged between 10 to 24 years with several layers of interventions including Social Asset Building, Violence Prevention, Economic Strengthening and Education Support, direct service delivery of HIV Testing, Family Planning and Condom Education. The project also targets parents of AGYW that are in DREAMS with Families Matter Program.
DAPP Malawi is inviting suitably qualified and experienced persons to apply for various positions under the DREAMS project which is being implemented in Blantyre and Chiradzulu districts.
MONITORING AND EVALUATION ASSISTANTS (x11)-Blantyre and Chiradzulu
Reports to: District M & E Officer
The Monitoring and evaluation assistant will have a high attention to detail, strong computer skills with the ability to multi-task with minimal error. He/she will be responsible for accurately and efficiently maintaining DREAMS Project Lola records, including entering, updating, researching, verifying, and retrieving data in project data systems. High expectation will be put to detail, accuracy, consistency, and ability to maintain confidentiality of information for project success.
Key Performance Areas
- Ensure relevant documents (registers, data collection forms) are well organized and stored safely.
- Provide supportive supervision to field staff at facility level
- Compiling, sorting, and verifying the accuracy of information before it is entered in the database.
- Conduct weekly data verification and cleaning for all services
- Participate in all facility meetings as required
- Assist health promotors with data entry into the database (DHIS2)
- Create and manage facility databases
- Locating and correcting errors or reporting them to supervisor
- Regularly updating existing databases
- Train and mentor Health Promoters, HDA’s and other cadres responsible for data entry on how to capture data in DHIS2
- Train the facility team on how to use various M& E tools
- Support the documentation and archiving of project-related information, including success stories, lessons learned, and best practices
- Participate in Planning and Monitoring of activities at facility level through coordination of monthly facility reviews
Qualification and Experience
- Diploma in Monitoring and evaluation, social science, statistics, Information Technology or any other related course from reputable college/university.
- Excellent typing and transcript skills, including typing fast speeds
- Strong understanding and experience working with digital data collection tools such as DHIS2, ODK, Kobo Toolbox, PowerBi and other similar database software
- Great attention to detail
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Sense of ownership and pride in performance
- Team player
- Good time manager
- Have/possess a valid motorbike license
