Creative Centre for Community Mobilization (CRECCOM)
CRECCOM is a local Non-Governmental Organization that is involved in social empowerment and community mobilization on a variety of social issues in line with its vision and strategic plan which is to see future societies with highly self-motivated citizens who are responsive to ever-changing socioeconomic and political pressure for the betterment of their welfare.
CRECCOM in partnership with UNICEF will support the government in implementing the Social Protection for Gender Equality and Resilience (SP-GEAR) project in Mzimba and Zomba. CRECCOM, through the SP-GEAR, intends to contribute to the realization of Malawi’s vision of an inclusively wealthy and self-reliant population by strengthening the SCTP through the provision of basic complementary support. The project will facilitate the establishment of Savings and Loan Groups (SLGs) targeting 32,000 beneficiaries. The project will also strengthen ultra-poor households (HHs) with financial and entrepreneurship skills. It is expected that these interventions will increase HH income and improve food and nutrition security resilience for the ultra-poor. Utilizing successful Social Cash Transfer beneficiaries as mentors and coaches and functional linkages between targeted households and community skills development centres, the project will build technical skills of beneficiaries including adolescent girls and women. We envision ultra-poor households, especially women-headed and youth-headed households, achieving improved food and nutrition security and resilience, as well as increased income through improved life and employability skills and productive asset transfer.
CRECCOM would therefore like to engage suitably qualified personnel to fill the vacant position(s) of Project Officer (3 Positions – 2 positions based in Mzimba, and 1 position based in Zomba)
