Mthunzi Funeral Service Limited is a funeral events management company providing superior end to end funeral management service. Mthunzi is looking to recruit results-minded and competent individuals to fill the following vacant position which is based in Blantyre.

POSITION: GENERAL MANAGER

The successful candidate will be accountable for providing overall leadership and developing a sustainable long-term growth and strategic direction for the company’s operations. The incumbent will be accountable for achieving results through comprehensive business management over the long-term. He/she will lead the business to deliver on its aspirations and help to navigate the ever-changing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drafting the company’s strategic plans, long term and short term in line with the group’s strategic plans.
  • Designing and implementing SMART action plans aimed at delivering key operational and strategic goals.
  • Monitoring and driving performance in order to meet performance targets and objectives.
  • Controlling revenue and expenditure budgets.
  • Managing the organization’s human resources including recruitment, development, training and motivation.
  • Managing material and system resources to ensure optimum performance.
  • Managing the marketing operations of the organization including developing new markets and products and increasing market share.
  • Managing risk, compliance and governance environment.
  • Managing stakeholders.
  • Reporting to the Board and complying with any other reporting requirements as per policy.
  • Perform market research and complex analysis of possible opportunities.
  • Oversee daily operations of the business unit or organization.
  • Any other duties as may be assigned by the Board.

Required Qualifications and Experience

This is a senior and challenging role and we expect the person to possess the following: –

  • Degree in any of the following fields: Accounting, Finance, Risk and Insurance Management, Business Management
  • Master’s degree in business administration or related field
  • Five years or more in a similar managerial role.
