Background
Banja La Mtsogolo (BLM) is a Malawian Non-Governmental Healthcare Organization established in 1987. BLM provides quality Family Planning and Reproductive Healthcare including HIV/AIDS information and interventions. BLM is a senior member of the MSI Reproductive Choices Partnership which works in 43 countries. BLM exists to improve quality of life in Malawi through family planning and reproductive health care services. BLM serves over 800,000 clients annually and makes a significant contribution to national family planning objectives. The organization has national coverage, operating through 25 clinics, and numerous outreach clinic sites.

FINANCE OFFICER – GLOBAL FUND PROJECT
LOCATION : Support Office – Lilongwe
REPORTING : Finance Manager
ROLE PURPOSE:
The post holder will be responsible for ensuring project compliance with donor requirements, complying with national and local financial regulations, assisting in streamlining and improving the grant financial reporting as well as exercising integrity and confidentiality in the financial reporting process.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for timely preparation and submission of quarterly financial reports as per donor requirements.
- Perform invoice and general-ledger data entry.
- Prepare monthly budget versus actual reports.
- Responsible for collating quarterly payments and supporting documentation to donor,
- Supports Grants and Compliance Manager in their financial management of grants.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Commerce, or Business studies, or other related subject or equivalent work experience.
- Understanding of basic principles of finance, accounting, and grant management
- Superb time management skills and detail orientation
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Strong mathematical skills.
- Experience with accounting software and online platforms.
- Supportive and adheres to MSI vision and goals.
- Ability to work under pressure and to manage multiples inputs, tasks, and deadlines.
