Temporary Assistant Warehouse Officer

 Family Health Services (FHS), formerly known as PSI Malawi, has partnered with the government of Malawi through the Ministry of Health (MoH) since 1994 in safeguarding the health of Malawians by using private sector approaches to reconfigure healthcare delivery – (i) through directly delivering innovative social and behavior change communications, social marketing, and social franchising across a wide range of health areas including Reproductive Health, HIV, Malaria and water-borne disease prevention (ii) by playing a market facilitation role, approaching market challenges and opportunities with a system-wide lens that unlocks a self-sustaining market with multiple players that can prioritize, adapt and ultimately thrive without external assistance and funds.

To accomplish its mission, FHS is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Temporary Assistant Warehouse Officer.

 Reporting to the Warehouse Officer/ Warehouse Coordinator the Temporary Assistant Warehouse Officer will be responsible for the following duties and responsibilities.

  • Keep stock records up to date by close of business on daily basis
  • Insert item codes on all stock items issued and submit requisitions to finance on a daily basis
  • Receive and assemble items in stock management system on a daily basis.
  • Maintain a register of all books, issuing them out in a sequential order
  • Sort out batch numbers and effect bin card per batch
  • Help communicate stock balances to user departments highlighting expiry dates and slow moving items
  • Help reconcile inventory prior to stock count and with finance matching up with stock management system
  • Assist in proper warehouse lay – out and design as guided by the supervisor
  • Post fuel issues as they happen for all service providers and submit reconciliations at the end of each month
  • Conduct physical spot checks at the end of each week
  • Help overseeing the packaging of condoms and their unitization
  • Properly archiving all warehouse documents on a daily basis

 Qualifications, Knowledge, Ability, and Skills.

  • Malawi School Certificate of Education
  • Diploma in Procurement and Supply Operations (CIPS) or any other relevant field
  • Registered member of Malawi Institute of Procurement and Supply
  • 4 years experience in a similar position
  • Good communication skills.
  • Computer skills in Microsoft excel
