Islamic Relief Worldwide (IRW) is a UK based International humanitarian and development organization working in 35 countries. Islamic Relief Malawi is looking for competent candidates to fill the following position;
Communications Intern (Blantyre Based)
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- Documenting media for all projects where media consultants are not engaged
- Facilitate and Coordinate with media consultants in documenting media as per projects’ storyboard and ensure quality of the agreed deliveries.
- Documenting best practices, success stories, lessons learned and case studies supported with photography and video clips that can be used for promotion of IR work as well as for fund raising and advocacy purposes to influence policy and practice
- Designing and developing content for publications, IRW website and other marketing material that communicates the organization’s activities such as brochures, leaflets and newsletters.
- Developing and disseminating public relations materials that increase our visibility among community, partners and all stakeholders.
Qualification & Experience:
- University Degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or related field.
- Minimum of 1 year relevant experience in a communications role, preferably in a humanitarian organisation and can present samples of published works relevant to the job
- Skilled in content writing, photography and videography.
- Experience in managing/coordinating teams including creatives and consultants/ freelancers.
- Ability and willingness to travel to remote, harsh environments, often for an extended period oftime.
