Chikwawa District Council

Chikwawa District Council with support from United States Agency for International Development (USAID), will for five (5) years, implement critical health and social welfare activities through a Government to Government (G2G) agreement at the district level and contribute to the improvement of HIV/AIDS, maternal and child health (MCH), family planning (FP), Tuberculosis (TB), Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), nutrition and social welfare service delivery. To achieve the intended objectives of the agreement, Chikwawa District Council intends to hire additional health care workers (HCWs) and support staff.

The council therefore invites suitably qualified Malawians to fill the following vacant position existing in Chikwawa:

JOB TITLE: NURSE MIDWIFE TECHNICIAN

Grade: HK/M8

Location: Chikwawa District Council

Duties:

  1. Provide quality nursing care using the nursing/ midwifery process.
  2. Perform activities of daily living for the patients 24 hours/day.
  3. Observe patients’ condition and progress. iv. Maintain a clean and safe environment for patient cares.
  4. Use appropriate common skills during nursing care.
  5. Administer medication and treatment to patients and clients.
  6. Assist in the rehabilitation of patients through application of principles of prevention of deformities, range of motion exercise and body alignment.
  7. Adhere to continuous professional development.
  8. Document and maintain accurate records of all nursing care activities performed.
  9. Building therapeutic relationship with patients, guardians, and fellow health workers,

Educational Qualifications

Applicants must be in possession of a diploma in Nursing and Midwifery obtained from a recognized institution and be a registered member of the Nurses and Midwives Council of Malawi.

NOTE:

  • All interested candidates must be prepared must be prepared to work in remote /hard-to-reach areas of the district following a set Deployment
  • All interested candidates must be prepared to remain within the district for a period of not less than 5 years.
