Civil Society Advocacy Forum (CSAF) through the Malawi AIDS Service Organization (MANASO) is implementing the Community-Led Monitoring Project in 6 districts of Blantyre, Chikwawa, Thyolo, Zomba, Lilongwe and Mzimba north targeting 30 health facilities, 12 Drop in Centres and 3 Central Prisons.
To continue to achieve the implementation of various programs, MANASO is looking for a dynamic, qualified, and highly experienced individual to fill a vacant position as follows:
POSITION: District Coordinator based in Chikwawa.
The District Coordinator will report to the National Project Coordinator while collaboratively working with other stakeholders at facility and district level;
Roles and Responsibilities
- Ensure effective operation of the district activities.
- The District Coordinator will be responsible for the supervision of Community Monitors.
- Setting and conducting performance assessments for Community Monitors with guidance from the office of HR and the National Project Coordinator.
- Plan monthly activities, share them with the National Project Coordinator, and implement them according to the work plan.
- Build a sound working relationship and engagement with district stakeholders as well as targeted health facilities.
- Document lessons learned and challenges to inform program decisions
- Responsibilities will include community coordination, supervision, and facilitating the implementation of community-led activities in line with the project guidelines.
- Supervise and support data collectors by carrying out quality data spot checks, data quality assessment, verification, and validation.
- Plan and manage district team goals, project schedules, and new information.
- Adhere to budget by monitoring expenses and implementing cost-saving measures.
- Identify and evaluate potential problems at the district level and develop solutions.
- Proper documentation and filing of project documents at district level.
- Ensuring timely data collection by Community Monitors.
- Provision of administrative support to the district team.
- Submit timely reports to the National Project Coordinator.
- In consultation with the National Project Coordinator, you will identify district-level emerging themes and threats and produce analytical advocacy and narrative reports outlining the state of health across the district level.
- Support Data collectors in collecting data using the non-facility-based tools at several sites, including through direct in-field support, and collation and analysis of data collected.
- Liquidating and submitting all the expenses and the required documents to Finance five days after the activity
- Any other duties assigned from time to time.
Qualifications and competencies
- Diploma in Community Development and Social studies. Those with a bachelor’s Degree will have an added advantage.
- Three to Five years of working experience at a community level in HIV-AIDS, SRH, or any related field.
- Willing to work with Key Populations, AGYW, PLHIV, MSM, FSW, and support groups.
- Knowledge of Gender issues.
- Project management skills, and drive to achieve results; to ensure timely delivery of activities.
- Willing to work with partners and multisector teams.
- Experience working on advocacy issues.
