
Malawi Network of AIDS Service Organisations (MANASO)
MANASO is a Network organization comprising Community-Based Organizations (CBOs), Local NGOs, and International NGOs in all districts across the country. Its mandate is to coordinate the HIV and AIDS national response among Civil Society Organizations in Malawi. In addition to the coordination role, MANASO also implements activities that focus on HIV/AIDS, Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), TB, COVID-19, Malaria, Nutrition, and Humanitarian response.
To achieve the implementation of various programs, MANASO, therefore, invites expressions of interest from qualified Malawians for the following position:
DRIVER
Under the supervision of the Administration Officer; the position holder will be driving authorized personnel, delivery, and collection services as assigned by management. The role holder will be responsible for safely transporting either cargo or passengers from one location to another.
Specific Responsibilities:
Logistical support
- Driving project vehicles for the transport of authorized passengers, luggage, and other items.
- Ensure attendance at the place of pick-up in a time-efficient manner.
- Deliver important documents to required destinations.
- Ensure security and safety of passengers, and the vehicle on and off the road and or/ goods therein.
- Fueling the vehicle and keeping it clean.
- Keep up-to-date records of trip schedules, daily mileage, vehicle condition reports, fuel records, and other reports present to management.
- Ensure valid documentation for passengers, items, or cargo in the vehicle and assist the passengers in disembarking as well as loading and unloading staff luggage.
Vehicle care
- Carry out routine checks on the assigned vehicle(s), cooling, oil, water, basic electrical, tire pressure, quality, etc., to ensure that the assigned vehicle is compliant, road-worthy, and maintained up to the established safety and security standards.
- Adhere to the established scheduled maintenance of the assigned vehicle and ensure the proper functioning of the vehicle is maintained at all times.
- Ensure that instructions and security guidance provided by the Supervisor/security focal point are strictly followed.
- In case of any incident or accident, ensure that the steps required by rules and regulations, or other internal procedures are strictly followed.
- Any other duties required by your supervisor.
Required qualifications and experience
- Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE)
- Valid driving licenses, having a defensive driving license will be an added advantage.
- Proficient in written and spoken English and basic numeracy.
- Good communication, writing, and interpersonal skills
- Have five (5) years of relevant work experience in a similar role and driving a manual car.
- You have a very good working knowledge of all major local road networks plus city streets.
- Detailed knowledge of road rules and regulations.
- Team spirit and proven –solving abilities.
- Able to work independently.
