
Malawi Network of AIDS Service Organisations (MANASO)
MANASO is a Network organization comprising Community-Based Organizations (CBOs), Local NGOs, and International NGOs in all districts across the country. Its mandate is to coordinate the HIV and AIDS national response among Civil Society Organizations in Malawi. In addition to the coordination role, MANASO also implements activities that focus on HIV/AIDS, Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), TB, COVID-19, Malaria, Nutrition, and Humanitarian response.
To achieve the implementation of various programs, MANASO, therefore, invites expressions of interest from qualified Malawians for the following position:
Project Officer
Under the direct supervision of the Capacity Manager; the officer will be responsible for facilitating the achievement of project objectives for the Global Fund HIV/AIDS, TB and Malaria Program under the Grant Cycle 7 (GC7) through coordinating and reporting on all project activities.
The Officer works with various members of the project team, stakeholders, and beneficiaries to develop timelines, create schedules, and oversee progress to make sure goals are met on time. The Officer also supports administrative, reporting, and submission timelines. Supports the office of the Head of Programs to ensure efficient program implementation.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Lead in the design and development of the project work plans, budgets, activities, and timelines at the District Level.
- Implement project activities based on the approved work plans and budgets.
- Work closely with the MEAL Officer, to develop and implement a monitoring and evaluation plan to track project progress and measure impacts.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including project files, records, and reports.
- Facilitate and coordinate capacity-building activities based on the CSS training package at the district level.
- Assist the Capacity and Partnership Manager to monitor and control project expenditure against the approved budget to ensure that expenditure remains within budget.
- Prepare weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual project monitoring reports, including progress, challenges, and mitigations.
- Work closely with the Communications and Advocacy Officer to identify and document impact program success stories for the project to support visibility and communications work.
- Ensure that the implementation of the project adheres to relevant regulations, policies, and best practices.
- Support the Finance Manager for the project to establish and maintain an asset register for all assets purchased by or provided to the project in line with MANASO policies.
- Monitor and evaluate program progress against established milestones and deliverables.
- Build and maintain partnerships with project stakeholders to support project implementation and foster collaboration. Organize all project and stakeholder meetings as and when necessary, and maintain records of these meetings.
Required qualifications and experience
- Degree in public health, Social Sciences, or a related field;
- A practical knowledge of HIV/AIDS and TB and or Malaria prevention and management programming;
- A 5 years of working experience in the implementation of community HIV/AIDS, TB, Malaria, and AGYW health programming interventions.
- Demonstrated technical skills in HIV/AIDS, TB, and Malaria prevention including management with key target groups in Malawi, applying new prevention technologies, and utilizing effective health promotion approaches.
- Strong project coordinating and implementing skills in managing complex, multifaceted projects resulting in measurable successes and program growth
