MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
A key member of Amref Malawi Projects’ Technical Team (PTT). An overseer of day-to-day management and implementation of COVID-19 activities at district level, preparing monthly and quarterly work plans and budgets, preparing district level project reports, coordinating the involvement of actors and projects stakeholders, and coordination of overall COVID-19 activities at district level.
Specific Key Responsibilities:
- Supervises and line manage vaccinators in the provision of COVID-19 health services to communities. Providing supportive supervision and technical support to all project participants and beneficiaries on COVID-19 activities.
- Provide guidance and technical assistance to the vaccinators, and partner staff in relevant
- Health Care Facilities (HCFs) and institutions.
- Establish and manage key networks and partnerships with relevant partners including NGOs, CBOs and MOH or relevant Government Departments at district level to promote COVID-19 Health service provision.
- Disseminates project information by preparing and disseminating project reports on a regular basis, including financial and technical reports to the Project Officer and all required project information to Amref internal users.
- Organize and facilitate stakeholder participatory planning and monitoring and evaluation (review meetings) in district level COVID-19 activities.
- Ensure high quality delivery of services to district and community structure
- Maintains regular communication with members of the COVID-19 management teams and other members of the field district office.
- Represent Amref in District affairs, and support the COVID-19 advocacy agenda through initiating and maintaining collaborations and partnerships with other actors on the ground.
- Conducting audits on COVID-19 work and records, thus ensuring monitoring and evaluation of all COVID-19 activities at district level.
- Responsible for developing COVID-19 district work-plans and implementation schedules
- Compile monthly, quarterly and annual reports and submit to the Project Officer.
- Monitor and control the project budget at district level, carry out monthly expenditure analysis and manages asset inventory.
- Ensures COVID-19 activity growth by participating in field office meetings and developing new initiatives and interventions
- Responsible for promotion of sustainable, continuous quality improvement models on COVID-19 health service provision.
- Develops project proposals and actively participate in fundraising activities for the organization.
- Systematically document and produce knowledge products in the form of abstracts, conference papers, case studies and best practices from the COVID-19 work.
- Support implementation of operations research in the project and produce reports.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelors’ Degree in Nursing and Midwifery, Degree in Public Health, Health Management or relevant health field.
- Experience in project management, implementation, budget management, and reporting.
Competences& Skills:
- Experience in implementation of Maternal Newborn Child and Adolescent Health, COVID-19, HIV and other similar health projects
- Superior analytical, presentation, communication and reporting skills.
- Sound IT knowledge; word processing, spreadsheet, databases, presentations
- A good command of English and local languages.
