Flutter Developer

Purpose of the Position:

The Flutter Developer has the responsibility of creating and managing a health information application that will be rolled out on the iOS and Android platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

Development and Design

• Use Flutter to design and develop  the application for the iOS and Android operating systems.
• Collaborate closely with the technical and design teams to create and manage the application artifact.
• Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.

Maintenance

• Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs.
• Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization.

Testing:

• Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability.
• Work on bug fixing and improving application performance.

Collaboration:

• Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.
• Liaise with the product development team to plan new features

Documentation

• Document all code changes and development processes.
• Create technical documentation for reference and reporting.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

Experience:

Two years of experience in software development, preferably with a project that is live or in use, and with an emphasis on Flutter development

Technical Skills:

• Strong knowledge of Flutter, Dart, and deep familiarity with iOS and Android development.
• Experience with third-party libraries and APIs.
• Solid understanding of the full mobile development life cycle, including automated testing and building.
• Experienced with the deployment procedures for the Android and iOS app stores

Personal Skills:

• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Strong and professional communication skills to effectively collaborate with developers and project managers
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.

Working Conditions:

The job will be contractual, which means that compensation will be dependent on the project scope, deliverables, and timeframe and will be subject to a payment plan. The developer will be expected to be located in Lilongwe in order to meet with the project team on a regular basis as needed.
