The Opportunity

Save the Children is inviting applications from suitably qualified personnel to fill the position of Technical Coordinator – Adolescent Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (ASRHR) for Ntcheu under Programme Operations (NORAD Framework Agreement). With support from the Technical Advisor for Maternal New-born Child and Adolescent Health, the Adolescent Sexual Reproductive Health, and Rights (ASRHR) Technical Coordinator will be responsible for providing technical support to programme local implementing partners within the NORAD framework Agreement, as well as overall coordination of Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights activities in the two impact districts of Mchinji and Balaka.

Precisely, the Technical Coordinator will be responsible for planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting of all ASRHR interventions especially focusing on ensuring SRHR is well integrated into the child protection thematic area.

The post holder will work closely with Technical Coordinators of the other thematic areas within the NORAD framework program i.e. Child Protection, Education and Child Rights Governance as well as other projects within the Central region area office and national level. With technical support from the Technical Advisor Maternal New-Born Child and Adolescent Health, the post holder will also steer the uptake of My Sexual Health and Rights common approach during the implementation of the program as well as abiding by the expected fidelity of implementation and quality assurance.

Externally, the post holder will work in close collaboration with implementing partners and stakeholders, including the district level line Ministries (Health and Youth), relevant district-level Technical Working Groups (TWGs) and sub-committees. This position is based in Mchinji with frequent travel to Balaka as another implementing district.

In case of emergencies or humanitarian situation, the position holder will be required to support in response as assigned by the Country Office and will be required to work outside the normal profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.

In order to be successful you will bring/have: 

  • Bachelor’s degree level in Health-related field, Social Sciences, Social Development, or relevant field with specialised training in Adolescent Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights.
  • Previous demonstrable experience in technical roles within ASRHR programming including strengthening health systems in provision of quality ASRHR.
  • Experience in project and partnerships management.
  • Strong knowledge of SRH policy and practice in Malawi and global
  • Demonstrated experience of working with complex teams in different geographic locations
  • Demonstrated experience of working in fast-moving and fluid professional environments with multiple competing deadlines and tasks
  • Excellent people management and leadership skills
  • Excellent communication skills in Chichewa and English, both oral and written
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft software: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook Express.
  • Capacity to train, coach, and mentor project staff as well as partners
