Daeyang Luke Hospital (DLH), is a fast-growing Mission hospital under the Christian Health Association of Malawi (CHAM). In pursuit to achieve the goals and objectives of the hospital, DLH is seeking to engage the services of experienced  personnel  with high integrity, competence, team players and who will be willing to serve the poor with compassion, to fill the following vacant post;

POSITION                           : INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY TECHNICIAN (1)
REPORTING TO                    : PRINCIPAL HOSPITAL ADMINISTRATOR
LOCATION                           : DAEYANG LUKE HOSPITAL, LILONGWE
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT     : TWO YEAR CONTRACT
GRADE                                  : K

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and manage the system analysis , design , and implement activities of the Health Information Team to ensure  quality delivery.
  • Complete software development assignments according to specifications provided
  • Support the design ,analysis and implementation of client registry and a shared health record
  • Performing data backup to ensure all DLH – owned work is saved
  • Respond to IT issues; hardware, Maintenance, Software, network, etc.
  • Oversee troubleshoot for system errors
  • Provide help desk and technical support either by phone , remote access , or site visits
  • Set up equipment for new users and employees
  • Monitor servers, LAN ,WAN, and Wi –fi to ensure full coverage
  • Administer network and data security , including virus protection
  • Install and configure wireless networking equipment
  • Ensure system is up and running
  • Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Educational qualifications, experience and attributes.

  • Diploma in Information Technology with at least 2-3 years’ experience in a busy health facility.
  • Experience working with network and server management support
  • Up-to-date knowledge of new systems , information , Software , Hardware and upgrade

  • Well conversant with the health system in Malawi
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
