Videography Services – Organic Fertilizer Enterprise Impact Video

  1. Background

Palladium is implementing the Growth Poles Project supporting Malawian small and medium enterprises that produce organic and biofertilizers for smallholder farmers. Through grant support from the Embassy of Ireland, local entrepreneurs have developed businesses that convert organic materials into soil-improving fertilizers, creating jobs, strengthening local economies, and improving soil health for farmers.

To showcase the social, environmental, and economic impacts of these partnerships, Palladium seeks to produce two short videos highlighting:

  • Local entrepreneurs producing organic fertilizers
  • Jobs created within these businesses
  • Smallholder farmers using the products
  • Environmental benefits of organic fertilizers
  • The partnership between the Embassy of Ireland, local businesses, and the Palladium Growth Poles Project

The videos will be used for a symposium, online communications, and social media.

  1. Objective

The objective of the assignment is to produce compelling video content that communicates the impact of locally driven organic fertilizer enterprises and highlights the value of partnerships supporting sustainable agriculture in Malawi.

  1. Scope of Work

The videography firm will be responsible for:

Pre-production

  • Collaborating with Palladium to refine storyboards and filming plan;
  • Select key interview subjects and filming locations based on options provided by Palladium;
  • Preparing interview questions and filming schedule

Production

  • Filming interviews with:
    • Supported entrepreneurs
    • Employees working in fertilizer production
    • Smallholder farmers using the fertilizers
    • Representatives from Palladium
    • Representative of the Embassy of Ireland (if available)
  • Capturing high-quality footage of:
    • Organic and biofertilizer production processes
    • Product packaging and distribution
    • Farmers applying fertilizer in their fields
    • Agricultural landscapes and farms
    • Interactions between farmers, businesses, and program staff

Drone footage is encouraged where appropriate and feasible.

Post-production

  • Editing and producing final videos
  • Integrating subtitles (English and Chichewa where relevant)
  • Incorporating simple graphics displaying key impact statistics
  • Adding background music and sound mixing
  • Incorporating partner logos and branding as required

  1. Deliverables

The videography firm will deliver:

  1. One 5-minute highlight video suitable for presentation at conferences and workshops.
  2. One 60-second social media video highlighting key impacts and messages.
  3. Optional short cutdowns (15–30 seconds) for social media use.
  4. Subtitled versions of the videos (English subtitles for all interviews).
  5. All final videos delivered in high-resolution formats suitable for web and projection.
  6. Raw footage and project files delivered to Palladium.

Videos should be produced in landscape (16:9) format, with additional formatting suitable for social media where possible.

The videos should highlight:

  • Local entrepreneurship and innovation
  • Job creation through green businesses
  • Improved soil health and environmental sustainability
  • Benefits to smallholder farmers
  • Partnerships enabling sustainable agriculture
  1. Timeline

The assignment is expected to take place over approximately 3–4 weeks, including filming and post-production.

Indicative timeline:

  • Pre-production planning: 1 week
  • Filming: 2–3 days in the field
  • Editing and revisions: 2–3 weeks

Final videos must be delivered by 15 April 2026.

  1. Qualifications

Interested firms should demonstrate:

  • Proven experience producing documentary or development-focused videos
  • Experience filming interviews and agricultural or rural livelihoods content
  • Strong storytelling and editing capabilities
  • Ability to produce high-quality video and sound suitable for professional presentations
  • Experience working with development programs, NGOs, or donors is an advantage
  1. Proposal Requirements

Interested individuals and/or firms should submit:

  • A brief technical proposal describing their approach, including staffing plan if not a single consultant applying
  • Portfolio or links to previous relevant work
  • Proposed timeline
  • Financial proposal including filming and editing costs, with daily rates and number of days of work for all staff working on the project
  • Equipment & Technical Capacity Statement
