Invitation to Tender – Provision of Insurance Services for the Years 2026-28

INVITATION TO TENDER

PROVISION OF INSURANCE SERVICES FOR THE YEARS 2026-28.

Background

Self Help Africa (SHA) Malawi is an international non-governmental organisation working to create opportunities for lasting improvement in people’s lives. SHA works in partnership with others to support livelihoods and food security, WASH and health, sustainable energy, and gender equality programmes, reaching over 1,000,000 people a year across Malawi. SHA operates in seven countries across Africa and, within Malawi, currently implements programmes in 14 districts.

In the course of its operations, SHA owns, leases, or otherwise holds an insurable interest in a range of assets and undertakes activities that expose the organisation, its staff, and third parties to a variety of risks. These include motor vehicles, office premises and equipment, IT and communications equipment, minigrids and solar-powered water systems, and the health and safety of employees. To protect these assets and manage associated liabilities, SHA requires a comprehensive package of insurance cover, to be provided by a suitably qualified and licensed insurance company operating in Malawi.

SHA is therefore undertaking a competitive tender process to select an insurance company (or companies) to provide the required cover for the period 2026-2028, with individual policies underwritten on 12-month terms and renewable by mutual agreement.

Self-Help Africa (SHA) invites applications from interested, qualified, technically competent and eligible insurance companies for the provision of insurance services for the years 2026-2028.
