PROVISION OF WORKS AND SERVICES
BACKGROUND
Organization for Sustainable Socio-Economic Development Initiative (OSSEDI) was established in 26th May, 2004 with the main mandate of enhancing effective participation of the civil society in social and economic development issues of Malawi. Its mission is to support the poor and marginalized members of the communities through an innovative and participatory development process which are critical to contribute to the socio-economic development of the country.
To support the implementation of the programmes, OSSEDI Invites bids from suitably qualified and experienced contractors and service providers for the following:
- Lot 1: Water Reticulation System Construction
- Scope: Supply and installation of water supply networks, borehole, piping, storage tanks, and related reticulation infrastructure across specified project location
- Class/Category: Contractors have to be registered with National Water Resources Authority (NWRA).
- Lot 2: Rehabilitation of Youth-Friendly Services (YFHS) Building
- Scope: Civil and structural renovations, interior upgrades, sanitation improvements, and facility modernizations for the Youth-Friendly Service Centre in Dowa
- Class/Category: Contractors have to be registered with NCIC.
- Lot 3: External Financial Audit Services (2026 – 2028)
- Scope: Provision of independent financial audit services for a period of three (3) consecutive fiscal years covering 2026, 2027, and 2028.
- Eligibility: Recognized chartered accounting firms registered with the relevant national accounting board/institute.
2. Eligibility Criteria & Technical Requirements Interested bidders must include the following in their submission:
- Valid Business Registration / Incorporation Certificate
- Tax Clearance and VAT Registration Certificates
- Valid PPDA
- Proven relevant experience with at least Two (2) signed completion certificates/references for similar works/services completed within the last five years
- Borehole drillers must have at least one drilling rig
- Site visit at their own cost (No site visits, automatic disqualification)
- Key personnel qualifications and availability of equipment (for Lots 1 & 2)
- Professional audit body membership/accreditation (for Lot 3)
3. Bid documents may be obtained upon payment of non-refundable fee of MK 15,000 deposited into the following bank account details: OSSEDI Malawi Operations, National Bank, Account Number 1010833007.
Collection of Bid Documents Detailed Procurement Documents containing technical specifications, site details, and terms of reference may be requested via email at procurement@ossedi-malawi. org during official working hours upon production of deposit slip starting from Friday, 28th August 2026.

- Bid opening: 8 October 2026 at 12:30PM

- A site visit meeting for Water Reticulation System Construction will be held on 3rd September 2026, while Rehabilitation of Youth-Friendly Services (YFHS) Building will be held on 3rd September 2026.
