VACANCY: QUALITY ASSURANCE PERSONNEL

Our client, a leading company in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector, is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and results-driven Quality Assurance Personnel to join its dynamic team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the company’s production processes, products, plant hygiene, food safety systems, and related operations comply with applicable standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Ensure compliance with Malawi Bureau of Standards (MBS) policies, standards, and applicable food safety requirements within the production site.
2. Develop, review, implement, and maintain relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and policies for water processing and related production activities.
3. Ensure that all required quality and safety tests are conducted in accordance with approved SOPs and that accurate records and documentation are properly maintained.
4. Monitor and ensure that plant hygiene and sanitation practices meet Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and applicable food safety standards.
5. Ensure that the plant maintains an up-to-date legal and regulatory register covering SHEQ requirements in accordance with applicable local laws and regulations.
6. Conduct regular inspections and quality checks of production areas, equipment, raw materials, water, and finished products to ensure compliance with established standards.
7. Identify, investigate, document, and follow up on quality deviations, non-conformities, and corrective and preventive actions.
8. Maintain accurate and up-to-date quality assurance, food safety, laboratory, inspection, and compliance records.
9. Support internal and external audits, regulatory inspections, and certification processes by ensuring that relevant documentation and systems are readily available.
10. Monitor critical control points and other relevant quality parameters throughout the production process.
11. Ensure that appropriate sampling, testing, and verification procedures are followed for raw materials, process water, finished products, and other relevant materials.
12. Work closely with production and other departments to identify quality risks and implement appropriate corrective and preventive measures.
13. Provide guidance and awareness training to employees on food safety, GMP, hygiene, quality standards, and SHEQ requirements.
14. Review and update quality assurance procedures, checklists, SOPs, and related documentation as required.
15. Ensure that quality incidents, customer complaints, and product-related concerns are investigated and appropriately addressed.
16. Ensure compliance with all applicable statutory, regulatory, and company requirements relating to Quality, Food Safety, Health, Safety and Environment (QFSHSE/SHEQ).

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Diploma in Food Science, Analytical Chemistry, Laboratory Technology, or any other relevant qualification from a recognized institution.
• Candidates with qualifications above Diploma level in a relevant field will be considered.
• Relevant experience in Quality Assurance, Food Safety, Laboratory Operations, FMCG manufacturing, or a related production environment will be an added advantage.
• Knowledge of GMP, food safety principles, quality management systems, SHEQ requirements, and applicable MBS standards will be an added advantage.
• Strong analytical, documentation, inspection, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees across different levels of the organization.
