Saint John of God Hospitaller Services Malawi is a non-profit, faith-based healthcare organization established in 1994 to contribute to the development of health services for all Malawians, including the most vulnerable, marginalized, and excluded groups. With operations in Lilongwe and Mzuzu, the organization is a key provider of tertiary and community-based mental health services, early intervention, inclusive education for children with disabilities, vocational training, elderly care, psychosocial support, rehabilitation services, and university-level training in health-related disciplines.
Saint John of God Hospitaller Services Malawi invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the following positions at its Institute of Vocational Training Centre in Mzuzu and Mzimba Project Office:
INSTITUTE OF VOCATIONAL TRAINING COORDINATOR (RE-ADVERTISED)
Position Overview
Reporting to the Programs Manager, the Institute of Vocational Training Coordinator will provide strategic leadership and overall management of the Institute of Vocational Training. The successful candidate will be responsible for the effective planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of vocational training programmes, while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and fostering productive relationships with key stakeholders, including TEVETA and the Ministry of Labour.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and oversee vocational training programmes.
- Develop and monitor training plans, schedules, and activities.
- Coordinate trainers and ensure effective delivery of training programmes.
- Monitor trainee attendance, progress, assessments, and completion.
- Liaise with relevant stakeholders and industry partners.
- Ensure training programmes meet appropriate quality and professional standards.
- Prepare training reports and maintain accurate programme records.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Technical Education or a related field from a recognized institution.
- A Master’s Degree in a related field will be an added advantage.
- Minimum of three (3) years’ work experience in a leadership or supervisory position within a vocational training, education, or related institution.
- Demonstrated knowledge of vocational education and training systems.
- Experience working with TEVETA, the Ministry of Labour, and other regulatory bodies will be an added advantage.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and report-writing abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to engage, collaborate, and maintain positive working relationships with community leadership structures.
