DAPP Malawi is inviting suitably qualified, experienced, and interested candidates to apply for the existing vacant positions as follows;

  1. Lecturer at Chilangoma TTC, Blantyre District – 1 position

Subject to teach: A combination of Science & Technology and Human Ecology

Reports to the Dean of academics.

Key Performance Areas

The position holder will have overall oversight maintenance of all aspects of records of the subject he/she will be allocated to teach which include but are not limited to;

  • Effective lesson planning and delivery
  • Resource development
  • Curriculum development, implementation and review
  • Teaching (demonstrate a deep and comprehensive understanding of the subject matter being taught)
  • Updating of teaching profession records.
  • Create and maintain a positive and supportive learning environment
  • Mobilize students in the groups to carryout planned programs

 Qualification and Attributes

Highly disciplined and self-motivated persons should have

  • Academic minimum qualification of a Bachelor’s Degree in Education obtained from institutions accredited by the National Council for Higher Education, NCHE.
  • At least 2 years’ experience as a Teacher Educator at TTC level
  • At least 2 Years experience as a Science & Technology and Huma Ecology teacher
  • Those with a T2 certificate with primary school teaching experience will have added advantage.

 

2. Agribusiness/marketing officer (1position) – SAMIS project based in Balaka Disrict. Reports to the Project Manager

Key Performance Areas

  • Provide governance and technical trainings to cooperative leadership structures
  • Strengthen cooperative business management systems and skills
  • Support development of profitable and sustainable business plans
  • Train cooperative leaders in cash flow projections and financial statements
  • Promote value addition initiatives within cooperatives
  • Facilitate registration of cooperatives with the Ministry of Trade and MBS
  • Organize market meetings to facilitate potential trade agreements
  • Conduct market research to identify viable opportunities
  • Implement and strengthen market linkage strategies for cooperatives
  • Link cooperatives to financial institutions for improved access to finance
  • Promote Village Savings and Loans (VSL) as a source of capital

Qualification and Attributes

  • Min Diploma/degree in marketing, business management/, community development
  • and over 5 years experience in M and E
  • and having worked with DAPP , then added advantages
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others and commitment to attaining/achieving project goals
  • Ability to deliver reports timely and with high quality to supervisors
  • Willingness to seek advice, get second opinion and accept guidance
  • Knowledge of data sub of sub set disaggregation key

3. M&E Assistants (4 Positions) – TRADE Project to be based either in Ntchisi or Kasungu District. Reports to TheProduction Specialist.

 Key Performance Areas

  • Compile data from the various source registers and make sure all data is entered in relevant databases
  • Provide real time data when requested
  • Conduct Data Quality Assessments
  • Conduct monthly data verifications and validations
  • Submit weekly IPTT
  • Ensure relevant documents (registers, data collection forms) are well organized and stored safely.
  • Compiling, sorting, and verifying the accuracy of information before it is entered in the database.
  • Conduct weekly data verification and cleaning for all services
  • Identification and correcting errors or reporting them to supervisor
  • Assist in training project technical team in data collection tools and reporting.
  • Provide supportive supervision to coaches at school level
  • Support the documentation and archiving of project-related information, including success stories, lessons learned, and best practices
  • Participate in Planning and Monitoring of activities

Qualification and Experience

  • Certificate/Diploma in M and E or in either of the following; social science, statistics, and Information Technology from reputable college/university.
  • Excellent typing and transcript skills, including typing fast speeds
  • Strong understanding and experience working with digital data collection tools.
  • Great attention to detail
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Sense of ownership and pride in performance
  • Team player
  • Good time manager
  • Having worked with DAPP is an added advantage
  • Those already based in or around implementing districts encouraged to apply
