Job Title: UD Truck Sales Executive
Reporting To: National Sales Manager
Location: Blantyre, Malawi
Workforce Recruitment Services seeks to recruit for the following position on behalf of a Client.
1. Job Purpose
The UD Truck Sales Executive is responsible for generating sales of UD Trucks through customer engagement, product presentations, relationship building, and consistent followup with prospects and existing fleet clients. The role ensures customers receive accurate basic technical information, supports the sales process end to end, and assists in coordinating with aftersales and body builders where needed. This position focuses on achieving sales targets, expanding market reach, and maintaining strong customer satisfaction while providing essential support to senior sales and management teams.
2. Key Responsibilities
2.1 Sales Execution & Customer Acquisition
- Prospect and develop new customers through cold calls, site visits, and lead follow
- Manage and grow a sales pipeline and maintain updated CRM/customer records.
- Conduct product presentations and quotations for UD Trucks.
- Prepare and follow up on tenders and sales proposals as directed.
- Achieve monthly and annual truck sales targets.
2.2 Basic Technical & Product Support
- Provide customers with product knowledge on UD truck models and features.
- Explain model differences, applications, and suitability based on customer needs. – Participate in internal product familiarisation sessions and OEM training when available.
- Support customer test drives and basic demonstrations.
2.3 Customer Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with fleet customers, small business clients, and truck owners/operators.
- Conduct regular customer visits in Blantyre and Lilongwe to identify opportunities.
- Maintain high standards of customer service before and after the sale.
- Follow up on deliveries to ensure customer satisfaction and gather feedback.
2.4 Coordination with Aftersales
- Assist in ensuring smooth vehicle handovers to customers.
- Communicate customer concerns or operational feedback to the aftersales team.
- Support the aftersales team by relaying warranty or service-related queries from customers.
- Monitor customers’ early usage experiences and escalate issues as needed.
2.5 Driver Training Coordination
- Coordinate with the Driver Trainer to arrange training sessions for customers’ drivers.
- Ensure customers are aware of telematics features and basic usage.
- Track attendance and follow-up actions where required.
2.6 Truck Body Builder Support
- Assist with communication between customers and approved truck body builders.
- Submit body-builder documents, drawings, or requirements to the relevant internal teams.
- Coordinate timelines and ensure customers receive updates on body-fitment progress.
2.7 Market Feedback & Reporting
- Gather basic market intelligence on competitor pricing, customer needs, and market activity.
- Provide weekly sales reports, pipeline updates, and visit summaries.
- Highlight emerging opportunities and risks to the National Sales Manager.
2.8 Branch & Field Support
Participate in promotional events, product activations, and exhibitions.
3. Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- Minimum Qualifications
- Secondary education; diploma in Sales & Marketing, Automotive, or Business is an advantage.
- Valid driver’s license (truck license beneficial).
Experience
- Minimum 1–3 years in sales (commercial vehicles, automotive, or industrial equipment preferred).
- Exposure to fleet/transport environments is an advantage.
Technical Skills
- Understanding of truck applications, payload requirements, and usage categories.
- Ability to learn and communicate UD Truck product features clearly.
- Familiarity with telematics and fuel-efficiency principles is an advantage.

4. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Achievement of monthly/annual truck sales targets.
- Size and quality of sales pipeline.
- Customer satisfaction and repeat business levels.
- Timeliness and accuracy of quotations, follow-ups, and reporting.
- Successful coordination of driver training and vehicle handovers.
- Quality of market feedback and competitor information.
5. Working Conditions
- Primarily field-based with regular customer visits.
- Travel to Lilongwe and other areas as required.
- Office and workshop interaction required for quotations, handovers, and coordination.
