We are commencing the recruitment of key roles in our organisational structure and are seeking Mining Engineers, Ore Spotters, Mine Surveyors and Surveyor Assistants to join our growing on site team.

The Kangankunde Rare Earths Project in Malawi is the cornerstone of Lindian’s asset portfolio and ranks amongst some of the best underdeveloped rare earth assets in the world. Our assets will provide critical minerals to fuel the technologies of tomorrow, driving innovation and supporting the world’s energy transition.
Through the development of the Kangankunde Project, Lindian is set to become a globally significant rare earths producer.
SURVEY ASSISTANT
Reporting to the Mine Surveyor, you will be responsible for:
- Providing leadership to demonstrate Lindian’s commitment to health and safety and promoting safety awareness and proactively managing risks
- Assisting with volume surveys of open pits, tailings, and general works
- Supporting installation and understanding of survey stations
- Participating in exploration surveys and grade control markups
- Setting out and picking up drill holes and access road alignments
- Operating laser stations and cavity monitor systems (CMS)
- Conducting check traverses and end-of-month stockpile surveys
- Learning to operate all surveying equipment
- Performing pickups of services and miscellaneous items
- Maintaining survey equipment and vehicles
- Keeping the survey shed clean and organized
- Adhering to internal policies, procedures, and quality standards
To succeed in this role, you will possess the following:
- A High School Diploma or currently studying for a Survey Degree or Diploma
- Experience in open cut surveying is an advantage
- Physically fit and numerically literate
- A valid driver’s license
- Basic understanding of mine grid systems
- Ability to work unsupervised and use initiative
- Experience in multicultural environments
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Adaptability and problem-solving ability
Eligibility
Candidates must be eligible to work in Malawi. Candidates will be asked to complete a National Police Clearance prior to employment.
