VACANCY ADVERT – SOCIAL, HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENTAL OFFICER
Unik Construction Engineering is looking for a Social, Health and Environmental Officer for our M1 Road Project, Jenda whose main duties will include ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety, social and environmental laws, procedures guidelines and specifications and to improve advice on measures needed to minimize hazards or unhealthy situations in construction sites.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Prepare of project ESMP and other EHSS plans
- Implement of environmental management plan (EMP), community works and HIV/AIDS awareness prevention programmes
- Conducting risk assessments and job safety analysis (JSA/AHA)
- Planning and facilitating regular HSE training including competency, induction and refresher training
- Conducting and maintaining the records for the daily/weekly toolbox discussions
- Prepare and submit the borrow pit management plans and implementing the same
- Prepare and submit safeguard plans to client and approval
- Prepare and project close out report related to social and environmental related issues
- Should be familiar with the Malawi Labor Laws regarding Administration related issues
- Ensure confidentiality in handling employee information
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Degree in Health and Environmental studies with previous experience road construction projects especially in funded /donor projects with at least 10 to 13 Years of experience
- Experience in community work and HIV/AIDS awareness/prevention programmes
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills
