PROCESSING TECHNICAL SUPERINTENDENT

Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will:

  • Lead and optimise metallurgical processes within the concentrator plant to maximise recovery, grade, and throughput.
  • Drive mine-to-metal accounting and oversee month-end reporting accuracy.
  • Monitor and adjust plant parameters to achieve production targets.
  • Provide metallurgical expertise and technical support to operations and maintenance teams.
  • Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for process deviations.
  • Oversee metallurgical projects, including plant trials and technology upgrades.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.

To succeed in this role, you will possess the following:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Mineral Processing, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
  • 8-10 years’ mineral processing experience, including 3+ years in a leadership role within PGMs, Chrome, or Iron Ore concentrator plants.
  • Proven expertise in R&D, process development, and concentrator commissioning, ramp-up, and optimisation.
  • Proficiency in reconciliation, KPI tracking, and mass balance tools.
  • Familiarity with advanced process control systems and simulation software.
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory techniques, sampling standards, and quality control protocols.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.

 

Eligibility:

Only Malawian Citizens will be considered. Candidates must be eligible to work in Malawi. Candidates will be asked to complete a National Police Clearance prior to employment.
