Workforce Recruitment Services is seeking to recruit on behalf of a client.

POSITION: PRINCIPAL (An accomplished and visionary educational leader to serve as Principal.)

LOCATION: LILONGWE
REPORTS TO: The Managing Director

The successful candidate will provide strategic and instructional leadership across the academic division, ensuring excellence in teaching and learning, strong governance alignment, and a culture of high performance and integrity. The Principal will champion academic quality, institutional growth, staff development, and stakeholder confidence in alignment with international standards and the school’s strategic direction.

This is a senior leadership position requiring outstanding professionalism, judgment, and commitment to international-school standards.

Key Areas of Responsibility

1. Strategic & Academic Leadership

• Provide clear academic vision and strategic direction for the school.
• Lead curriculum excellence, assessment integrity, and academic performance improvement.
• Ensure alignment with Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) standards and best practice.
• Drive a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and measurable outcomes.
• Lead school development planning and academic quality assurance processes.

2. Teaching & Learning Excellence

• Champion high-quality instructional practice across all subject areas.
• Establish strong systems for academic monitoring, evaluation, and performance tracking.
• Support data-informed decision-making to improve learner outcomes.
• Promote professional inquiry, instructional leadership, and collaborative practice.

3. Leadership & Talent Development

• Build and sustain a high-performance professional culture.
• Lead recruitment, induction, and retention of high-quality educators.
• Develop leadership capacity within the school through mentoring and succession planning.
• Ensure accountability and professional growth through structured appraisal systems.

4. Student Experience & Wellbeing

• Ensure a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
• Promote holistic education, student leadership, and character development.
• Oversee behaviour systems, safeguarding compliance, and wellbeing frameworks.
• Champion co-curricular excellence and balanced student development.

5. Governance, Stakeholder & Institutional Leadership

• Work closely with the Managing Director and Board to implement strategic priorities.
• Maintain strong, professional relationships with parents and external partners.
• Represent the school in academic and professional forums.
• Contribute to enrolment growth, brand strength, and institutional sustainability.

6. Operational & Institutional Oversight

• Ensure effective academic operations, compliance, and quality assurance systems.
• Oversee academic resource planning aligned to budget priorities.
• Strengthen systems, structures, and accountability frameworks that ensure long-term institutional stability.

Qualifications & Experience Essential Education

• Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership, School Administration, Education Planning or related field.
• Recognized teaching qualification.
• Significant senior leadership experience within an international or Cambridge aligned school.

Professional Experience

• Demonstrated senior leadership experience in reputable international Cambridge schools or equivalent high-performing academic institutions.
• Proven capability in strategic school management, including academic oversight, staff development, operational leadership, and performance management.
• A strong record of organizational leadership with understanding of school financial sustainability, resource stewardship, and data-driven decision-making.
