We are commencing the recruitment of key roles in our organisational structure and are seeking Mining Engineers, Ore Spotters, Mine Surveyors and Surveyor Assistants to join our growing on site team.

The Kangankunde Rare Earths Project in Malawi is the cornerstone of Lindian’s asset portfolio and ranks amongst some of the best underdeveloped rare earth assets in the world. Our assets will provide critical minerals to fuel the technologies of tomorrow, driving innovation and supporting the world’s energy transition.

Through the development of the Kangankunde Project, Lindian is set to become a globally significant rare earths producer.

ORE SPOTTER

Reporting to the Grade Control Geologist, you will be responsible for:

  • Demonstrating Lindian’s commitment to health and safety and promoting safety awareness and proactively managing risks
  • Assisting with grade control mark-ups and pickups in open pits
  • Supporting ore spotting activities across mining areas
  • Conducting sampling of drill rigs, blast holes, auger holes, RC and diamond rigs
  • Performing channel and stockpile sampling
  • Ensuring all activities are conducted safely and in accordance with company standards
  • Applying agreed procedures, safeguards and hazard management plans
  • Maintaining statutory and internal reporting as required Promoting adherence to internal policies, procedures and quality standards
  • Consistently maintaining a high quality of work across all allocated functions

To succeed in this role, you will possess the following:

  • High School Diploma or similar qualification
  • Experience in open pit operations is an advantage Ability to work unsupervised and use own initiative
  • Physically fit and adaptable to changing work environments
  • Strong communication and cultural sensitivity
  • Ethical judgment and influential communication

Eligibility

Candidates must be eligible to work in Malawi. Candidates will be asked to complete a National Police Clearance prior to employment.
