Malawi AIDS Counselling and Resource Organization (MACRO)

Malawi AIDS Counselling and Resource Organization (MACRO) is a locally registered nongovernmental organization (NGO) established in 1995 to complement Government’s efforts in in the fight against HIV and AIDS and other health related issues.

MACRO’s Vision is Malawi populace free of ill-Health” and its Mission is “Transform lives of Malawians through provision of high-quality HIV and AIDS, and other health related services”.

With funding from USAID through FHI360, MACRO is bridging gaps to maintain HIV epidemic control. MACRO has received funding to implement activities to ensure the prevention of Gender Based violence amongst AGYWs aged 25-29 years in Lilongwe Urban. The program will use the Start, Awareness, Support and Action (SASA) approach, an evidence-based community mobilization approach to prevent violence against women.

Therefore, MACRO is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following vacant position in Lilongwe.

Position: Office Assistant

Location: Lilongwe

Reporting to: Field Officer

 Job Summary

The DREAMS Office Assistant plays a crucial role in managing day-to-day administrative tasks and ensuring the smooth operation of our office. This involves providing administrative support, managing correspondence, organizing files, scheduling appointments, and assisting with office tasks as needed.


  • Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) or its equivalent.
  • Prior experience working with Adolescent Girls and Young Women.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills.
  • Commitment to confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of Key Population issues.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Receive and distribute communications (emails, phone calls, etc.).
  • Maintain records and important documents.
  • Organize and manage office files.
  • Anticipate and manage inventory of office supplies.
  • Ensure prompt ordering and receipt of supplies.
  • Deliver supplies to workstations as required.
  • Provide secretarial assistance to staff members.
