JOB VACANCY: MONITORING AND EVALUATION OFFICER
Chisombezi Deafblind Centre, (CDBC), a non-governmental organization dedicated to improving the quality of life of persons with deafblindness, invites applications from qualified, committed, and results-oriented candidates to fill the position of Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer.
Position: Monitoring and Evaluation Officer
Location: Blantyre
Reporting to: Executive Director
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design and implement monitoring and evaluation systems in line with organizational and donor requirements
- Develop and manage M&E tools, indicators, data collection methods, and reporting frameworks
- Collect, analyze, and interpret program data to track progress, outcomes, and impact
- Prepare timely and high-quality monthly, quarterly, and annual M&E reports for management and donors
- Support program staff in activity planning, target setting, and performance tracking
- Conduct routine field monitoring visits to assess project implementation and data quality
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, storage, and proper documentation
- Support baseline studies, mid-term reviews, and end-line evaluations
- Facilitate learning, documentation of best practices, and lessons learned
- Participate in audits, assessments, and donor monitoring visits
Qualifications and Experience:
- Diploma or Degree in Monitoring and Evaluation, Development Studies, Social Sciences, Statistics, or a related field
- At least 2–3 years’ experience in monitoring and evaluation, preferably in an NGO or donor-funded organization
- Strong knowledge of M&E concepts, results-based management, and logical frameworks
- Experience in data collection, analysis, and reporting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data management tools
- Strong analytical, report writing, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and meet reporting deadlines
- High level of integrity and attention to detail
