Land Surveyor

Unik Construction Engineering is looking for a Land Surveyor to be based in Mzimba who will be responsible for carrying out survey and design of selected roads using technical equipment and modern software.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Be responsible for all survey works on the project to ensure smooth progress of works without delays.
• Providing all survey information as and when requested by the Engineer
• Perform duties related to land surveying and identifying encroached land ownership and property boundaries.
• Conduct records management activities and perform historical and legal land ownership research.
• Responsible for all field measurement and layout.
• Management and control of road levels to Engineer’s and project requirements
• Conduct standard calculations to identify areas, elevation, volumes of field survey notes – Conduct basic calculations using field note data.
• Read, utilize and interpret design drawings and topographic maps.
• Study, learn and interpret CAD computer applications.
• Perform as Senior Project Leader for survey at in-house and mapping projects.
• Provide consistent and superior quality documents for survey, design and building projects for all clients in region.
• Be responsible for that the, setting out and design of each and every road
• Perform as cadastral issue matter expert as team member.
• Involve in implementing mapping contracts and Indefinite Quality (IQ) surveying.
• Ensure as-built drawings are done and completed in accordance with approved survey data and get the approved by the Engineer on time.
• Report or advise the Project Manager or Site Manager of any level or route alignment discrepancies.
• Responsible for drafting shop drawings for each and every road and get approval from the Engineer.
• Responsible for drafting shop drawings traffic control plans necessary for the project as may be required by the engineer.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum of a Diploma in Survey and at least eight (8) years of experience;
• Clean drivers Licence;
• Detail Orientated;
• Reliable and Able to work independently
•  Excellent problem-solving skills and understanding of mapping concepts.
