Macsteel Malawi Limited invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the position of Information & Communications Technology (ICT Supervisor – Grade C1) to maintain all Macsteel (Malawi) Limited computer systems in good running order.
Key Responsibilities
- Trouble shooting and rectifying IT problems efficiently;
- Conducting Daily Backups for all system Data;
- Effective contribution in the designing, implementation and support of communication infrastructure (LANS and WANS);
- Recording and documenting solutions and actions for all calls/faults from users;
- Carrying out preventive maintenance schedules and procedures;
- Server configurations and management;
- Management of database systems and antivirus programs;
- Providing IT support helpdesk;
- Periodically servicing and repairing all hardware in the Company;
- Ensure that all hardware and software is documented and recorded in the Asset Register
- Creation and management of user accounts;
- Provide training to new users that are added to the system;
- Provide Sage 200 basic support and Sage VIP / BCPP basic support
- Continuous First Line Support, Coaching of new and old users with their day to day problems
- Daily system audits through event viewer and other tools; and
- Recording and documenting solutions and actions for all calls/faults from users.
- Managing the IT policy and implement a disaster recovery plan
Desired Skills
- Troubleshooting and diagnostic skills; Knowledge of the following:
- Microsoft Office / 365
- Microsoft Project
- Sage Pastel
- SQL saver competent
- LAN/WAN/VPN/Starlink
- Wireless networks
- Mikrotik Router
- PC and Hardware maintenance
- Oracle administration
- Applied programming
- IT consultations
Requirements
Minimum Education, Training & Experience:-
- MSCE
- Degree /Diploma in IT
- Minimum 3 Years’ experience in a factory setup
