Background
Banja La Mtsogolo (BLM) is a Malawian Non-Governmental Healthcare Organization established in 1987. BLM provides quality Family Planning and Reproductive Healthcare including HIV/AIDS information and interventions. BLM is a senior member of the MSI Reproductive Choices Partnership which works in 43 countries. BLM exists to improve quality of life in Malawi through family planning and reproductive health care services. BLM serves over 800,000 clients annually and makes a significant contribution to national family planning objectives. The organization has national coverage, operating through 23 clinics, and numerous Public Sector Strengthening (PSS) and Outreach clinic sites.

HUMAN RESOURCE ASSISTANT
LOCATION : Support Office – Lilongwe
REPORTING LINE : HR Manager
Role purpose
The HR Assistant is responsible for administrative and operational support to the HR department, in ensuring smooth execution of HR processes such as recruitment, onboarding, employee record management and compliance.
Key responsibilities
- Support in communication with interview candidates and conducting initial orientation to newly hired employees and File Creation
- Assisting with recruitment and onboarding processes
- Coordinating training sessions
- Assist processing HR documents (like contracts, time and attendance, payroll, pension claims, medical claims
- Ensuring compliance with labour regulations
- Maintaining employee records
Qualification, Attributes and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma from a recognized university preferably in HR, Public Administration or Business Administration
- At least 1-year related experience, preferably in a diverse International NGO
- Excellent communicator in both English and Chichewa
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Excellent attention to detail skills
- High Integrity
- Willing to commit to the goals and vision of BLM
- Shares BLM values in Safeguarding, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and Anti-Fraud and Bribery
- Pro-choice.
