Head of Department – Science (High School)

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Head of Department – Science to lead our High School Science team and serve as a core subject teacher of Chemistry and Physics at IGCSE and A Level.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach Chemistry and Physics at IGCSE and A Level with excellence and clarity.
• Lead and coordinate the High School Science Department, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning, and assessment.
• Support and mentor Science teachers in delivering a robust Cambridge Curriculum.
• Oversee the planning of schemes of work, lesson delivery, student tracking, and exam preparation across the department.
• Manage departmental resources and laboratories to promote safe and effective practical science experiences.
• Contribute to the broader academic leadership of the school.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Education with a specialization in Chemistry and Physics (a Master’s degree is an advantage).
• At least 6 years of experience teaching the Cambridge Curriculum up to A Level.
• Prior leadership experience in an educational setting, such as a department head, subject lead, or team coordinator.
