GIS & Operations Support Technician

Job Overview

Tiderise is seeking a detail-oriented, tech-savvyGIS & Operations Support Technician to join our team. In this role, you’ll support the implementation of customer-facing projects, perform map-based data annotation, and collaborate cross-functionally to enhance the quality of our services and tools. You’ll serve as a bridge between customer success, product, and operations—ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, communication flows seamlessly, and our geospatial data is top- notch.

Working Hours

15:00pm to 11:00pm

Key Responsibilities GIS & Annotation Work:

• Perform geospatial annotation and mapping tasks using GIS tools (e.g., QGIS, ArcGIS, Google Earth).

  • Clean, analyze, and prepare geospatial datasets to support equipment tracking, field boundary setup, and route mapping.
  • Digitize customer-provided field maps and ensure accuracy and consistency with platform standards.
  • Collaborate with product and development teams to improve map-based features and data workflows.

Project Collaboration & Support:

• Coordinate internal task assignments for client onboarding and mapping projects using tools like Trello, Asana, or Monday.com.

• Track project milestones and ensure timely delivery of field mapping deliverables.

• Support operational initiatives by helping maintain documentation, SOPs, and training materials.

• Participate in cross-functional discussions to streamline and improve service delivery processes.

Multi-Channel Communication:

  • Serve as a point of contact for internal team members and external stakeholders regarding project updates and mapping data needs.
  • Communicate clearly across Slack, email, Zoom, and CRM systems to ensure alignment across teams.
  • Document and escalate issues as needed while maintaining proactive communication with customers and collaborators.

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience in GIS, mapping, or annotation work.
  • Experience with GIS tools such as QGIS, ArcGIS, or Google Earth Pro.
  • Comfortable working with shapefiles, GeoJSON, KML/KMZ, and satellite imagery.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills across multiple channels.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively across teams and manage projects or tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Bonus: Familiarity with agriculture, fleet management systems, or ag-tech platforms, and analytical skills.
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Strong ethics and ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
