JOB VACANCY – GARAGE MANAGER
Location : Estates in Mulanje & Thyolo

General Description of the Role
We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Garage Manager to oversee the daily operations of the company garage.
The role of Garage Manager is crucial for maintaining the efficiency and reliability of our motor vehicle (cars, motorcycles, tractors) systems in the company. He/she will ensure the efficient and effective operation of the garage, ensuring high-quality efficient motor vehicles that will enhance production from the field to the final product.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for managing vehicle maintenance schedules, supervising garage staff, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and maintaining accurate records of repairs and servicing.
Key duties Include
- Manage and coordinate all garage operations including vehicle servicing, repairs, and maintenance.
- Supervise mechanics and support staff, ensuring high standards of workmanship.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all company vehicles.
- Monitor and control garage budgets and expenditures.
- Maintain inventory of tools, spare parts, and consumables.
- Prepare reports on vehicle performance, maintenance costs, and garage activities
- Liaise with suppliers and service providers for parts and external repairs.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Qualifications and Key prerequisites
- Education: Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology, or related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years working vehicle maintenance and garage management..
- Valid driver’s license in line with the job preferred
- Excellent knowledge of vehicle diagnostics and repair procedures
- Proficiency in maintenance record-keeping and reporting
- Team: Strong leadership and proven ability to manage and train a team.
- Communications: Fluent in English and Chichewa including writing and reading.
- Organization: Excellent time management skills; attention to detail; the capacity to prioritize by assessing situations to determine urgency; ability to develop a work schedule, set goals, create / implement action plans and monitor progress towards goals; and ability to make clear, timely decisions.
- Computer knowledge: Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Internet and e-mail knowledge.
- Must be an individual of high Ethical standards, Honest and Well motivated who can work with minimum supervision.
