About the Role
Kurgan Investments is seeking a disciplined and detail-oriented Finance & Administration Officer to manage the financial control, accounting, and compliance functions of its Commodity Distribution Division.
This role is critical to ensuring strong cash management, inventory control, tax compliance, and accurate management reporting in a high-volume trading environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accounting records in QuickBooks
- Process and reconcile:

- Customer invoices and receipt
- Supplier invoices and payments
- Inventory transactions
- Control and validate the order-to-cash process for the division, ensuring no order is released without confirmed payment
- Perform monthly bank and stock reconciliations
- Prepare and submit divisional VAT and statutory tax returns
- Manage payroll and employee deductions
- Track and reconcile supplier rebates and credit notes relevant to this division
- Prepare management reports:

- Profit & Loss
- Inventory valuation
- Sales and margin analysis
- Cashflow reports
Minimum Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Accounting / Finance
- 2–5 years accounting experience (trading, wholesale, or distribution environment preferred)
- Working knowledge of QuickBooks or similar accounting systems
- Strong understanding of VAT and payroll compliance in Malawi
- High level of accuracy, integrity, and organisational discipline
Desirable
- ACCA / CIMA / ICAM (part-qualified or studying)
- Experience in inventory and distribution accounting
