Small and Medium Enterprises Development Institute (SMEDI)
Small and Medium Enterprises Development Institute (SMEDI) is a parastatal organization mandated to promote the development and growth of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the country, intends to recruit the services of well-qualified, experienced and result oriented persons to fill various positions tenable at its various duty stations located in Lilongwe, Blantyre and Mponela as follows:
Position – Driver (1 Position)
Grade – SME 9
Job Purpose
To provide delivery services with due regard to traffic and time schedules and applying knowledge of traffic regulations and best routines.
Qualifications and Attributes
- Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE);
- Valid driving licence;
- Defensive driving credentials;
- Less than 40 years of age;
- A minimum of two (2) years’ work experience in a corporate environment;
- Basic knowledge in motor vehicle mechanics;
- Strong interpersonal skills;
- Good communication skills both written and oral;
- Team player.
Selected Duties and Responsibilities
- Driving members of staff in safe and smooth manner and as assigned;
- Ensuring that vehicles are kept clean at all times:
- Carrying out routine checks of vehicles including but not limited to oil condition, brake function, water, lights and tyre condition;
- Maintaining minor vehicle faults;
- Providing monthly vehicles’ status reports to supervisors.
