Position DRIVERS (3)
Department Administration
Location Lilongwe
Job Summary The driver is responsible for driving the company vehicles at the office and to any
other places as assigned and other field visits, as well as performing light clerical
and messengerial duties. The driver is also responsible for seeing that all vehicles
are well maintained and have up to date insurance and certificates of fitness.
Reports to HR & Admin Officer
Main
Responsibilities
1. Transporting of Staff, goods or documents while engaged in daily company business and visits or travels.

  • Keeping the vehicle Clean and presentable
  • Delivery of messages, purchases of office materials and other tasks assigned by the administration.
  • Should the company vehicle be involved in an accident make sure a report is filed with the police and the administration.
  • Assisting with light clerical duties in the office as needed.
  • Assisting in allocating vehicles and maintenance of vehicles and
    motorcycles.
  • Assisting in compiling the monthly fleet reports

2. Vehicle Maintenance Management

  • Regularly document and inspect the company vehicle for faults, with reports to immediate supervisor.
  • Schedule and oversee all vehicle repairs and regular service as needed. 
  • If the vehicle has an alarm system, the driver is expected to always use the system.
  • All company vehicles and trailers in use are properly insured and licensed (i.e., Road tax, COF, plates etc.) always.
  • Comprehensive and documented checks are carried out on the company vehicles at least once per week and before each long journey (i.e., fuel, lights, brakes. oil, water, pressure, indicators, etc.)
  • Vehicles have the correct and required equipment and tools which are in serviceable condition i.e., spare wheel, spanners, jack, ropes, tarpaulins etc.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of M.S.C.E. certificate
  • Should have a Defensive Driving license.
  • Must have some Mechanical experience, those with Mechanical Trade Test Grade III and II will have an added advantage.
Other Requirements
  • At least 5 years of driving experience in light to heavy goods vehicles.
  • Ability to identify mechanical faults.
  • Knowledge in fixing and replacing serviceable parts.
